Who supports your well-being? Animalia celebrates the gifts animals provide through companionship and interactions. The featured works are simultaneous reflections on the healing capacity animals offer us and symbols of advocacy. Infusing compassion and self-expression, these artists cast a light on the ongoing need to support the creatures that bring immeasurable benefits to our lives.
All art featured in Animalia was created by Arts In Reach (AIR) participants. AIR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to inspire teenage girls and gender-expansive youth to be brave, elevate their voices, and create the lives they imagine. AIR offers high-quality, barrier-free arts programming for girls and gender-expansive youth ages 11-18 at no cost. AIR programs are experiential, teen-driven, and collaborative. AIR programs focus on building a supportive and inclusive community, capitalizing on the power of art to help teens create lasting relationships with peers and mentors, acquire a sense of belonging, explore their creativity, and find safe outlets for self-expression.
