PMAC Artists Camp is back in 2024 to fill July with creativity! Three week-long sessions allow students ages 7-12 to explore painting, drawing, sculpting and more, guided by talented PMAC teaching artists Alexa Smith and Karissa Kagiliery. Please note: this year Artists Camp is at a new location–Kittery Community Center in Kittery, Maine. Space is limited—sign up early to guarantee your spot!

Session 1—July 8-12: Visual Voyagers

Embark on an epic journey through distant galaxies, uncharted oceans, fantastical realms, and sci-fi planets! Prepare to unlock the doors to imagination as we voyage into the realms of the unknown. Throughout the week, we’ll embark on daring artistic expeditions, experimenting with paint, sculpture, printmaking, collage, and more to create artwork that stretches beyond the imagination.

Session 2—July 15-19: Art Around the World

Let the masterpieces of renowned artists, both past and present, inspire your own artistic expression! We’ll explore a variety of art techniques and mediums, ranging from painting and sculpture to printmaking and collage (and more). Channel the expressive brushstrokes of Vincent Van Gogh to craft your unique landscape, or infuse vibrant colors into your artwork, drawing inspiration from the dynamic style of Kehinde Wiley. This week is all about letting your creativity flow!

Session 3—July 22-26: Animal Kingdom

Embark on a creative journey inspired by the captivating world of animals! Throughout history, artists have drawn inspiration from the beauty and diversity of the animal kingdom. From the revered cats of ancient Egypt to the vibrant birds and monkeys painted by Frida Kahlo, animals have always held a special place in art. This week we’ll dive into animal-inspired art, using a variety of mediums to make masks, sculptures, paintings and more that celebrate our furry, feathery, and scaly friends.

  • 9am-3pm daily
  • Location: Kittery Community Center in Kittery, Maine
  • Ages 7-12
  • $300 per session
