Conrad Veilleux first started playing the tenor saxophone in high school, then continued as a member of the navy band until 1958. “Then I came back out and I forgot all about the sax,” Conrad shares, now age 92. While Conrad didn’t actively miss music during the following busy years, six decades later he met PMAC CEO Russ Grazier after his doctor encouraged him to pick up his saxophone again.
Conrad became a PMAC student “to restart the motor again!” — and now plays on the very same saxophone that had been tucked away in storage for so long. He takes private lessons and has played on a variety of stages with the New Horizons Band. Says Conrad, “When you start playing again, it’s a whole new world. It’s like a new adventure.”
