Amanda Brahm is an attorney who represents employers and educational institutions in legal matters related to students, employees, and school and workplace policies. Amanda’s work encompasses federal and state court litigation of employment discrimination claims, breach of contract issues, and claims arising under Title IX, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the federal and Connecticut Family and Medical Leave Acts. She has also successfully defended charges before administrative agencies, including the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights.
In addition, Amanda advises clients on a wide range of student and personnel-related issues. She develops sexual misconduct and non-discrimination policies and protocols to ensure consistent and balanced responses to incidents occurring in the workplace and in schools and institutions of higher education. Amanda delivers training on these issues and counsels schools and employers as they work through investigating and resolving reports of prohibited conduct. Amanda’s approach is informed by her experience serving as an interim AVP of compliance, senior director of equity and Title IX coordinator at multiple institutions of higher education. In these roles, Amanda has worked directly with students, faculty members, employees, and parents in facilitating schools’ Title IX, non-discrimination, and disability policies. With her on-campus experience, Amanda offers her clients a unique understanding of the current educational environment and the challenges it presents.
Amanda is a past board member of the Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity.
