Lydia Kinney | Cobbled

Cobbled features abstract paintings that hold the visible record of their own making. Artist Lydia Kinney describes painting as a devotion to the passage of time—a process of exhausting a spark, following an idea fully, and allowing the final painting to rest. Both visually and physically, her pieces become an archive of decisions, compromises, gambles, and methods to work beyond an initial concept.

 

Lydia Kinney is a Greenfield, Massachusetts-based painter working in structured and layered abstraction. An honored BFA graduate of Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Kinney exhibits her work throughout New England.
