Portsmouth Music & Arts Center (PMAC) is excited to announce a new internship opportunity for college students interested in music, music education, and community arts. We are currently seeking passionate and motivated interns to join our New Horizons Chorus, a joyful, adult ensemble dedicated to singing for the joy of singing. This role could be filled by multiple interns based on availability.

About the Internship

This internship offers a unique combination of hands-on teaching experience and active musical participation. Rehearsals are weekly throughout the year on Thursdays from 5:00-6:30 PM, with occasional breaks due to holiday breaks. Interns will be fully welcomed into the choir—singing in rehearsals, preparing for performances, and learning alongside our members—while also gaining supervised experience assisting with instruction and rehearsal leadership under the guidance of the Choir Director.

What You’ll Do

• Sing and participate in rehearsals with the choir
• Assist the director with vocal warmups, sectional rehearsals, and teaching moments
• Support administrative or logistical tasks for concerts and events
• Serve as an enthusiastic ambassador for collaborative community music
