Summer 2026 at PMAC: Art Camps, Teen Music Ensembles, Art Workshops, and More!

Summer at PMAC is all about making something—new art, new music, and new memories. PMAC Summer 2026 brings hands-on art camps for youth, week-long music workshops for kids and teens, summer music ensembles for adults, and flexible summer private lesson options that fit busy family schedules.

Led by experienced teaching artists, PMAC summer programs invite students to explore visual art, make music with others, try new styles, and build skills in a welcoming, supportive setting.

Youth Art Camps (Grades 2-7)

PMAC Artists Summer Camp

Grades 2-7 | $375 per week | 3 sessions, 9am-3pm
Note Location: Traip Academy – 12 Williams Ave., Kittery, ME

Unleash your young artist’s imagination at PMAC Artists Camp! Themed weeklong camps are packed with hands-on 2D and 3D art projects—including painting, drawing, sculpting, mixed media, and more. Each week concludes with a student art show for family and friends to celebrate!

Mission Imagination Camp 

Grades 3-5 | $300 | June 29 to July 2, 9am-3pm | PMAC

Blast off into an intergalactic art adventure! Fueled by space science and stellar imaginations, young creators will design spaceship blueprints, sculpt extraterrestrial foam puppets, capture cosmic “tourist snapshots,” and paint futuristic space-scapes as we travel through our galaxy and beyond. Campers will bring their visions to life through both 2D and 3D projects, using a mix of traditional and innovative tools, techniques, and materials.

Youth & Teen Summer Music Workshops (Grades 4-12)

Summer Rock 101

Ages 9-11 | $225 | July 27-31, 9AM-12PM | PMAC

Ready to rock? Summer Rock 101 is a one-week workshop where young musicians can jam with a band, learn rock essentials, and perform for family and friends! This program is all about collaboration, creativity, and having fun while making music together.

Summer Rock 101 is open to young musicians who play guitar, drum set, vocals, keyboard, bass guitar, flute, sax, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, violin, viola, or cello.

Summer Teen Jazz Workshop

Ages 12-17 | July 6-10, 9AM-4PM | $400 | PMAC

Calling teen musicians! The Summer Teen Jazz Workshop is the perfect opportunity to develop your jazz skills, explore improvisation, and perform live! Designed for intermediate and advanced players—who have either played jazz or those wanting to learn jazz technique for the first time—this workshop will delve into classic and contemporary tunes.

Open to musicians with 1-2 years of experience on their primary instrument, and no audition required! Instruments: Sax, Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone, Guitar, Keyboard, Bass Guitar, Upright Bass, and Drum Set. Rhythm Section spots are limited—register early!

​​Summer Teen Rock and Beyond Workshop

Ages 12-17 | $400 | PMAC
Two session options: July 13-17 and/or July 20-24, 9AM-4PM

ROCK out with us in this Summer Teen Rock and Beyond Workshop! Bands are formed at the beginning of the workshop and each band will learn a tune of their choosing and write and record an original tune. Expanding beyond classic, indie and hard rock, bands will be encouraged to explore hip hop, folk, country, bluegrass, metal and more — wherever their interests lie! The workshop concludes with a TEEN ROCK SHOW at a local music venue. Led by PMAC teaching artists, students will learn valuable skills in musicianship, teamwork, songwriting, stage presence and more!

Summer Adult Music Ensembles (Ages 15+)

FREE Summer New Horizons Band 

Ages 15-Adult | Free | Tuesdays 6/16, 6/23, 6/30, 5:30-8PM | PMAC
Evening Community Concert Dates TBA

Join PMAC’s New Horizons Band – Summer Edition for a fun and rewarding community band experience! This tuition-free large ensemble is open to intermediate to advanced players of band instruments. Beginners with at least a year of study are also encouraged to inquire. Expect a dynamic mix of concert band music – from traditional marches to Broadway medleys, with a final performance to showcase your progress! 

This program is designed for adult musicians throughout the year, but during the summer, teens are also welcome to join the fun.

Summer New Horizons Chorus

Ages 18-Adult | $90 | Thursdays 7/9-8/13, 5:30-6:30PM | PMAC

Looking for a fun, low-pressure way to keep singing this summer? Join the New Horizons Summer Chorus, open to adult singers of all levels! Over a few relaxed summer rehearsals, you’ll explore a variety of musical styles, build your vocal skills, and connect with a welcoming community of fellow music lovers. No sheet music reading or previous experience required—just a love of singing and a willingness to jump in!

Summer Ukulele Circle Jam

Ages 21+ | $10 per jam session | July 1, July 8, Aug 19, 7-8PM | Location TBD
Drop in or sign up in advance

Drop in for just $10 a session and strum along with fellow ukulele players in this fun, song-based ensemble for adults. Each session features a fresh mix of tunes, from Hawaiian classics and Beatles hits to old favorites and modern songs. No pressure, no commitment—just bring your uke and join the jam! All skill levels are welcome.

Summer Art Workshops (Adult)

Paper Marbling Workshop

Ages 18+ | $85 | June 25, 4-7PM | PMAC

Swirl, float, and transform color into one-of-a-kind patterns in this paper marbling workshop. You will learn how to manipulate pigments on the surface of water, then transfer those patterns onto paper to make unique artworks that are both striking and personal. We’ll experiment with color mixing, pattern-making, and layering techniques to create flowing designs—perfect for framing, cards, collage, or future projects. This workshop emphasizes focus, creativity, and playful experimentation with color and texture. 

Papier-Mâché Sculpture Workshop

Ages 18+ | $85 | July 9, 4-7PM | PMAC

Construct your own sculpture from scratch using recycled materials and imagination. In this hands-on papier-mâché sculpture workshop, you will learn the full process—from forming shapes and layering papier-mâché to finishing, drying, and adding color. Once your piece is set, you’ll paint and decorate your sculpture to bring it to life with personality and detail. This workshop is ideal for creative makers who like to experiment, problem-solve, and work in 3D with texture, form, and color. 

Collagraph Prints Workshop

Ages 18+ | $85 | August 6, 4-7PM | PMAC

Explore the satisfying intersection of collage and printmaking in this collagraph printing workshop. You’ll learn how to design and build collagraph plates using a variety of textured materials, then explore inking and printing techniques to create richly layered, tactile prints. The workshop leans into experimentation—playing with patterns and texture—to create visually dynamic pieces.
