Discover the magic of printmaking in Youth Printmaking: Art in Layers, a hands-on, imaginative class for Grades 6-8! Young artists will explore the exciting process of transferring images from a matrix (such as a stamp, carved block, or textured surface) onto paper and fabric. From the bold impressions of block prints to the dreamlike patterns of sun prints and the colorful experimentation of gelli plate printing, students will learn how to create vibrant, layered works of art using both traditional and experimental techniques.
Each week, students will dive into new methods of mark-making and image transfer, building artistic confidence and exploring their creative voice. Along the way, they’ll learn about design, repetition, texture, and color while producing a variety of unique prints to take home and share.
Whether your child loves to draw, experiment, or get a little messy, Youth Printmaking: Art in Layers is the perfect place to explore the world of printmaking in a fun, encouraging environment. New projects are explored each session.
Thursdays 4:15-5:15PM | Offered all sessions: Sept 18-Oct 23, Nov 6-Dec 21 (no class on Thanksgiving), Feb 5-Mar 23, Apr 2-May 14
