Trombone

Andrew Cropper is an active and professional trombone player who has performed across both the New England area and internationally in a variety of performing ensembles including Concert Bands, Jazz Bands, Brass Quintets, Brass Ensembles, brass quintets, and symphony orchestras through the Keene State College and UMASS Amherst’s campuses. Andrew has also performed in numerous pit orchestras and held bass trombone positions with the Keene Jazz Orchestra and the Amherst College Symphony Orchestra. Andrew has also shared the stage with incredible guest artists such as former principal trumpet of the New York Philharmonic, Phil Smith, and late American jazz singer, Sheila Jordan. Currently, Andrew holds the Principal Trombone position with the Merrimack Valley Philharmonic.

Teaching Philosophy:
Everyone approaches music differently, and I strive to meet students towards both their creative interests and desired skills. I aim to create a positive, fun, and supportive space where students feel motivated to practice, improve, grow, and enjoy the process of musical learning.
