Maddy Shimko

Music Teaching Artists
YOUNG PIANO, FLUTE

Maddy is a Maine native and moved to New Hampshire shortly after graduating from Keene State College. While at KSC, she pursued her B.M in Music Education and studied flute with Robin Mattathias, and piano with Dr. Christina Wright-Ivanova. In addition to teaching private lessons at PMAC, Maddy teaches at Greenland Central School, where she leads the 4th-8th grade band program and teaches middle school music electives. Over the years, she has enjoyed a wide range of performing opportunities both as a vocalist and an instrumentalist. Since moving to New Hampshire, she’s enjoyed performing in theater pit orchestras and engaging in the rich music and arts culture that the seacoast has to offer.

Maddy’s teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves access to a high-quality music education and musical experiences. Her goal is to provide a learning environment where students can work towards their individual goals and explore their unique interests.
