YOUNG PIANO, FLUTE

Maddy is a freelance musician teacher based in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. She holds a B.M in Music Education from Keene State College, where she studied flute with Robin Mattathias, and piano with Dr. Christina Wright-Ivanova. In addition to teaching private lessons at PMAC, Maddy teaches at Greenland Central School, where she leads the 4th-8th grade band program. Additionally, she is a freelance pit musician specializing in woodwind instruments. Maddy is originally from the greater Portland, Maine area, and since moving to New Hampshire, she’s enjoyed exploring the rich music and arts culture that the NH seacoast has to offer. Maddy’s teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that everyone can be musical, and that everyone deserves access to a high-quality music education. Her goal is to provide a learning environment where students can work towards their individual goals and explore their unique interests through a variety of approaches.
