Shea Callahan is from Belmont, New Hampshire, and moved to Manchester, New Hampshire, after completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Business with a concentration in Trombone Performance at the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, New York.
Shea is a tenor and bass trombonist who studied under Mark Hartman and uses his pedagogy throughout her teaching and style of practice. When Shea is not at PMAC, she teaches low brass private lessons for Windham School District in NH, works at the Manchester Music Mill as an online coordinator for their website, or plays her trombone. She also loves to read and be with her cats in her city apartment.
Shea currently has a position in the New Hampshire Philharmonic Orchestra and Center Harbor Band, plays in individually contracted positions for holiday mass performances, and has a seasonal position playing for the New England Ballet Company for The Nutcracker.
Shea hopes to lay down a solid foundation for her students to set them up for success, whether they pursue music further or find the love for the instrument she has loved for many years. She hopes to strengthen her students in individual playing and help them play with others by playing with Shea and learning the importance of balance and independence in performance.
I am so excited to be part of the team at PMAC and share my love for music. I am looking forward to teaching others essential steps to be the best trombone player they can be. A solid foundation is vital for a player to be the best they can be.”
