In summer 2026, PMAC is offering three new, hands-on art workshops designed for curious and creative adults (18+) who want to try something new or connect with their creative side. Join us for Paper Marbling, Papier-Mâché Sculpture, and Collagraphs!

Three New Summer 2026 Art Workshops – Join Us on a Thursday Evening!

Paper MarblingThursday, June 25, 2026 | 4pm-7pm, PMAC

Hands lift paper into paper marbling water

Swirl, float, and transform colors into unique patterns in this captivating workshop on paper marbling. Participants will experiment with pigments on water, creating flowing designs that transfer onto paper in beautifully unexpected ways. From bold color combinations to delicate layered patterns, each piece emerges as a one-of-a-kind creation.

Finished papers can be framed, turned into cards, used in collages, or saved for future creative projects.

Papier-Mâché SculptureThursday, July 9, 2026 | 4pm-7pm, PMAC

Hands work on a Papier-Mâché sculpture, while another person holds a piece of Papier-Mâché up to add

Create something entirely your own using recycled materials, texture, color, and imagination. In this playful sculpture workshop, participants will learn the complete papier-mâché process, including shaping, layering, painting, and finishing.

The result? Sculptures brimming with personality and creativity. This approach is ideal for makers who enjoy experimenting, problem-solving, and working in three dimensions.

Collagraph PrintmakingThursday, August 6, 2026 | 4pm-7pm, PMAC

Supplies for collagraph printmaking laid out on a table

Part collage, part printmaking, collagraph printmaking is all about texture and discovery. Participants will create printing plates from layered materials, then experiment with inking and printing techniques to produce richly textured prints that convey depth and movement.

This workshop encourages creative risk-taking and playful exploration while introducing a unique printmaking process that is both accessible and rewarding.

Meet Instructor Jade Ruscio

Leading these Summer 2026 art workshops is visual artist and designer Jade Ruscio, a Boston-born artist now based in Southern Maine. Jade earned her BFA in Graphic Design from Montserrat College of Art and has worked as an educator, freelance graphic designer, and multidisciplinary artist.

Inspired by the natural world and a passion for analog design in an increasingly digital era, Jade’s work explores vibrant color, pattern, texture, and form. Her current artistic practice centers on colored porcelain, also known as Nerikomi.

For Jade, art education is a deeply personal experience.

“Art and art education have played a crucial role in who I am today and the journey that helped me to find who I am. If it wasn’t for these spaces to express myself, be consumed by projects, and to be encouraged, I don’t think I would be the successful student, educator, and community member that I am today.”

Jade’s teaching philosophy centers on creating welcoming spaces where students feel encouraged to experiment, solve problems, take creative risks, and build confidence in their own ideas and artistic voices.
