Portsmouth Jazz Parade

As part of PMAC’s Visiting Guest Artist Jazz Residency, there will be a JAZZ PARADE with Grammy Award-winning DELFEAYO MARSALIS, members of New Orleans’s Uptown Jazz Orchestra, and local band students at noon on Friday, April 17 in downtown Portsmouth.

Attendees are invited to follow the musicians along the route!

A few minutes before noon, speakers from the Black Heritage Trail will say a few words. Then the parade kicks off at noon from Portsmouth’s African Burying Ground. It will travel down State Street, turn left at Pleasant St to Market Square, and end at the North Church. This is a sidewalk parade! No streets will be closed.
